Hi all,
Need your help and experience in this!
I received an RFE for my EAD and AP a few days ago. This has to do with me not registering myself during the NSEERS Special Registration. They want to know why i did not register for the NSEERS.
I visited an attorney around March 2003 regarding the Special Registration and was adviced that I dont have to register because my last entry to the U.S. was in January 2003. That was when return for school after going back home for my Christmas holiday. I have been an F-1 student since September 1998.
Reading the NSEERS requirement (http://www.ice.gov/doclib/pi/specialregistration/Call_In_Group4.pdf), my interpretation is that i should be exempted since my last entry to the U.S. is AFTER September 30, 2002. Is my interpretation right or wrong?
Please advice.

When I went for special registration I was told that I was already registered and told to go back home. The RFE is asking me for photocopies of I-94 form, FIN number, arrival and departure stamps and passport size pictures. I was just going to send them this information but maybe I should run this by my lawyer. Please let me know if you have any additional information.

If you are a resident of Karnataka, TN, AP or Kerala, you need to schedule an appointment with Chennai consulate. With regards to PIMS, I guess consulates wll ask for this info. well in advance once you schedule the appointment. I got my VISA stamped from Chennai cosnulate during my visit in Feb and received my passport in 3 days. My wife who is in India now got her VISA stamped last month and the stamped passport was returned in 2 days. I don't think you need to worry too much about PIMS since the system is more streamlined now.

I went online to change address.
It didn't ask for pending case#'s anywhere.
I tried calling customerservice but I get this message that CSR work only between 8-6 Mon-Fri and is asking me to call back later though I called at 10am.
Today is a holiday for them then for Veteran's Day. I'm not surprised they're closed.

Usually we see IV members posting on this website if there is a pattern and trend. if there is one, some members take initiative and contact their law makers and talk to appropriate authorities.
Is there such a pattern? Members may post their experiences and hardships on IV.
DHS does takes measures to control fraud and abuse - but if it is affecting geniune people then genuine people can write about their issues here.

Guys,
If one IV member moves from State A to B, what would be the process of transferring membership to state chapter?
Will it merely be a deleting datbase record from one state and adding it to another state? Or would it be again filling up survey to new state chapter..?

You will not know until I-140 is filed as the preference category is requested on I-140 and not on the PERM.

I got stuck in FBI name check for over 2+ years (24+ months)... run out of
patience or anything :mad: . I now decide to sue them by filing writ of mandamus in court. I'd like to have an experienced attorney do it for me. I'm looking for an attorney who is responsible and responsive, has been successful in filing writ of mandamus for clients to get the name check moving.
