Friends we all know to get AC21 it takes 6 months from the date of 485/EAD application.
Suppose you get your EAD and say have an extension on H1B also for 3 years. But you have not completed 6 months after date of 485 application. In the mean time you loose your Job, then can we still retain the EAD... with say new employer....

Finger print will only bring up those names who have a "rap sheet". That is people who were arrested, booked and then charged. A name check will bring out those who are under an investigation directly (main file) or associated with those being investigated. Thus a name check is essential from the national security point of view.
USCIS is supposed to respond to USCIS OMBUDSMAN report on Sep 11. USCIS has not mentioned about the value it is deriving out of the NAMECHECK process!
I do not know why USCIS is wasting money and resources in the questionable "NAME CHECK" process while they already have the faster "FINGER PRINT" process!!

I am not worried about the three companies I know of , I am worried about other 3000 companies that I don't know of.
I also believe, it is not the companies that are evil. It is the system that provides the incentive. And I am trying to take away that incentive.

The funniest thing is 3/4 of the countries on the list are part of the erstwhile British empire. How's that for irony. They loot and dominate you on one hand and subject you to inane laws on the other. Here is a classic example of what is good for the goose is not good for the gander.

For senator and congres(wo)man it is really simple call your local senator or congres(wo)man or got to their website and fill out a privacy form and send it to the person handling immigration service at their office. As a part of that form explain them your situation and what you want their office to do for you. They will promptly follow up with USCIS on your behalf and will provide you with regular update as and when they get it from USCIS. You can easily find your local senator or congres(wo)man on google search.

I'm not getting this. If DOS/USCIS wants to retrogress the current dates then why they will wait for july2nd or 3rd. As they know people will file their applications by 29th june or they will try to deliver their applications by 2nd of july. So,if this rumour is really true then they would have posted revised bulletin in this week only , latest by today only, so that people will stop filling applications. So guys relax and keep doing whatever you were doing and file your applications by 2nd july.

That could be the reason they did not issue a revised bulletin for Jun, when the "other worker" category became unavailable and that would make sense. They could not issue a revised bulletin, so the sent a letter to USCIS not to accept the "other worker" category anymore, which in turn will case a law suit. .... I think this all is a rumor!!!

According to my lawyer, our cases have been sent to Washington for security clearence. And based on the feedback she has been getting, it is taking about a month. The embassy cannot issue our visas till they hear back from Washington.
So I realize that it totally _SUX_ but there's nothing we can do about it. So just chill and wait..

NOT SURE WHY ?? this delay is ??
i maybe forgetting..but which consulate did you go to and if new delhi then what was the description(looks) of the VO ?

I heard that they stopped giving interim EAD's. So all were asked to apply atleast 3-4 months before other wise status will be lost unless you have valid H1. Not to scare anyone but thats what I read somewhere.

Finallly, my online status changed from "Initial review" -> "Document production" and also got email from Senator's office that my case is approved.
I think I got it....but not 100% sure yet...no approval emails yet... or no other proof.

I got CPO email on Oct 22, at 7:45 pm from USCIS (not CRIS), almost the same time as yours.
What are the emails you got? I didn't get any email on I-485 approval. Update me if you get any other correspondence. I will update too.

I also did send a second set on August 16th.For me and family we have already got EADs,AP and AOS receipts and are all finger printed.
I have also requested stop payments on the August checks,and had addressed"not to be opened in Mailroom-for Center Director" Explained to disregard the second set if my earlier filing on July2nd has already been accepted for processing.So far no further info.Will keep fingers crossed and see what happens!
