Good to see an EB3 thread with so many people in EB2 getting Greencards these days.
It is a matter of time EB2 I is current and nobody from EB2 will care for EB3. It is comforting that many IV core is EB3 and some good will happen to EB3. A friend of mine with EB3 I PD in 2008 has literally lost all hope of getting greencard and that is very sad. It is painful to see EB2 people not helping EB3 people. Why?
It is a matter of time EB2 I is current and nobody from EB2 will care for EB3. It is comforting that many IV core is EB3 and some good will happen to EB3. Look my friend, there is no logic like RD vs PD. If there were I would have had my green card before most here even filed their 485s. My 485 is pending for over 4 yrs now.
I have had people with PDs after me, RDs after me, all sorts approved and I am waiting.
This is a game of luck and chance.
The USCIS process is chaotic and disorganised in the way they do things. If you are lucky you get your approval earlier, if you are not, your application languishes in some salt mine in Utah or wherever else NSC stores their pending applications.
I think I saw this in one of the ombudsman's reports to congress. A certain percentage of files are misplaced/lost every year. I have a sinking feeling - mine could be one of these. If so, I will have to wait until someone at USCIS stumbles on it :-). I agree completely with you and there is really no way to predict how USCIS processes GC's. USCIS incompetence is boundless.

The best we were able to do was the HEART Act, which only helps those who are active military. However, the 2009 stimulus is available for everyone. This time it is not a one time payment, but you will see a small increase in your monthly paycheck.

I live in Los Angeles and sent my paper-based application to Nebraska. it reached on May 01 but no reciept or check cashed yet.
I know After reading this forum that I should have mailed to Phoenix lockbox instead on Nebraska service center.
Anyone in the same boat?. Do i need to file again or wait for USCIS to forward it to Phoenix lockbox.

Lets look at Rep. Smith - Reclaim American Jobs Caucus | Congressman Lamar Smith (http://lamarsmith.house.gov/Issues/Issue/?IssueID=14781)
he is against amnesty and for border control.
--> the cir menendez bill has all the border control provisions that the republicans want (in fact, it is entirely what they want) - so one issue is addressed.
--> illegal immigrants who are already in the country - record number of them have been deported in the 2 years under this administration (more than the republican presidents in the past!), trying to deport them all will take billions of dollars (which the govt does not have - or will it be charged on the legal immigrants?). Yes, one should not support lawbreakers, but just saying that does not solve the problems......what proposals are there that will address the illegal immigrants? nothing.
the talking points are:
border control, we are against amnesty. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Provide solutions, if not a path towards legalization with due fines, what alternative do you suggest?

Anyone, who has renewed their passport at CGI houston very recently, please post response time and dates. Mine was mailed on 16/6/2008 and received at the consulate on 18/6/2008. No response till now. Thanks in advance for your replies.
I recently got mine renewed at Houston. It was done via Fedex and not personal appearance/visit. Applied on April 14th and received it at home on June 24th. So about ~10 weeks. You wouldn't get any response. No point calling the number - we can't leave a voicemail too as mailbox is full! However, I sent them couple of emails on 19th June and 23rd June and voila they sent me my new passport on June 24th. I guess they were waiting for my emails ;) don't worry you'll get urs soon.

I have seen that same tendency on ,when I asked about that, I was told that once your PD is current the RD plays the final role, if my RD is before someones with a 2004 PD then mine is done first. Now the service guy was the one telling me that. Question is how much can we believe them. Obviously we are getting mixed info here.
Lets just hope we all get it soon and this confusion they are causing with all the mixed messages is over soon!

I don't mean to be pessimistic regarding your application, but it seems that USCIS is processing old PDs 2003 and 2004 without looking at RD ( if it is within the published processing time or not). so if you have a PD of 2004 or older, don't worry about your RD and they will touch yours soon, assuming I-140 already approved. but if you have a PD newer than 2004, it might be a while before they get to those even if your RD is before 06/08/07 (published)
Also regarding the service request. I did a SR back in February to get an update of my case and they asked me to wait 45 days to hear something. I called again today ( 60 days later) and it seems that SR I did disapeared ( I even have a reference #). Customer Service rep said they can start a new SR but not sure if it is gonna do anything. they will get to the application when they can. and right now they are precessing 2003 and 2004.
