I really admire those who can navigate thomas without getting hoplessly lost, especially it since it takes me just a couple of clicks to get the feeling I am alone in a very dark cave with no lights :)

On August 3, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.
Not sure what ADIT and last paragraph mean... anyone with similar message..

Called all offices and left voice messages - read this action item too late in the day to be able to speak to the staff themselves.
Rep. Ciro's office did not put me to voice mail of immigration staff. Asked me if I belonged to IV - when I said yes, he said they have been receiving quite a few calls about 'those two bills' from ImmigrationVoice. He also said that since they receive a large volume of calls from their constituents as well, they have to be prioratized over us. He however promised to convey the 'ImmigrationVoice's' request to the Rep.

Big movement usually comes in June (last quarter of the fiscal year) because DOS is not good in statistics (they are hiring US citizens...just kidding, no offense meant) and only that time it realizes that there are more visas to give. And then suddenly some big VB movements (i think DOS should hire us instead as statistician....i can make accurate VB...lol).
But I believe for FY2008, big movement will come on April (DOS doesn't like a repeat of the July VB fiasco).
i agree with junRN....i think this time around the movement will be accurate because all the 485 cases have been filed (excluding BEC ppl) no labor substitution will occur, hence they will know how many visas are in hand and how many can be allotted. FYI we never use the terms like EB2 or EB3 in our meetings with lawmakers.
Let me tell one example:
If 2 of our kids are sick , we'll concentrate on both of them for their recovery.If one gets recovered we'll concentrate more on other kid.Now EB2 is in good shape and EB3 is not , now it's time to concentrate more on EB3.

Well I am one of those guys who visits immigrationvoice almost on a daily basis and benefit a lot, but never bothered to even think about making a contribution.
The reason behind this is not so much a matter of not wanting to contribute, but just a preconceived notion of "What difference can my contribution make".
Your post is certainly an eye opener.
We complain so much about the lack of a quick turnaround for our issues, yet expect someone else to work to resolve the problem, while shamelessly hoping to benefit from the resolution with zero participation in the efforts.
Sorry IV, for my past indifference. I have started my monthly $20 contribution and hope to increase it in the near future.

i thought same as u in that apprval has to be by 31 july, however my lawyer says i can file if approved 1 to 16 aug. confusing as heck
It's debatable...the announcement from USCIS says anyone whose priority date is current as of July 2007...One way of interpreting is anyone who filed as of July 31, your priority date is current as of July 2007. But in order to file concurrent 140 and 485, you have to have your labor approved. This is why people who are stuck at BEC's cannot file since they don't have their approval yet even though they filed long back. This is just my 2 cents. You can find lawyers who agree on this and disagree, it's one of the gray areas....I'm in the same situation, waiting for my PERM from Atlanta..filed in Feb. If I get my approval before Aug 17th, I plan to file.

At this pace, it will take hundreds of years for EB3-I backlog to clear. This per country cap and new spill over process is killing EB3-I and there are no hopes.
We must do something. I wrote several letters to Local Senators, Ms Lofgren, Mr. President, Mr. Vice President but nobody offered any help for me.
Now I am ready for hunger strike. Anybody ?

She obviously cannot wait till Oct 1st or she won't get paid for the first week (at least). Contact the SSN office to find out how soon you have to file. In my opinion, you are eligible to get an SSN the moment you receive work authorization (even if its for a future date).

My wife's LC was filed through the old process. We also did the PERM for her and were able to port the old PD BUT it took almost a year and the lawyer told us he had to ask his 'congressional contact' for help.
PERM may be an option for people in BEC - but not a sure shot one. The whole process takes ~6 months (including advertisements) and you/your company need to shell out $$$.
I empathize with you - but this is life. I had a PD of Oct '03 - but got sick of my job and changed - so now have a PD of Dec '05. Didn't make a difference as both became current in the July VB.
All of us come here for different reasons - many like me come for career opportunities. When GC/visa issues become a barrier for your career, it's time to rethink - when at the same time the opportunities in your country are much better. In the grand scheme of things, it's still not clear how important a GC is - don't get me wrong it really really helps - but if you are unlucky - then you need to evaluate the opportunity cost.
