Did not want to go off topic but I was just wondering why this thread is not on "Donor Forum". In other words I was thinking what goes in Donor forum and what does not and how is that decision made. Also does anybody think that donor forum is mis-named. Donor is the one who just donates and does not get anything special back. These should be called "Paid Services". What do you think ?

There are less than 1000 replies in the I-485 voting thread and no money is required...how do you plan to sell 20K tickets to only a few "active" members?
I agree with you. On that thread people are complaining that they should not have to register to vote. How do you expect them to spend time taking out their credit card, entering the 16 digits using keyboard and hit the submit button really hard.

Hoping to get your opinion on my situation.
I am an Indian citizen, working in the US on an H1B, moving to Spain on a resident visa. My current US employer wants me to continue working from Spain. However, my Spanish visa doesn't permit me to work for a Spanish company, and my US employer doesn't have an office in Spain so they can't apply for a work permit for me. They do have Indian offices, though.
What are my options here? Some of the avenues I am exploring:
a. The company's Indian offices hire me as an external consultant and pay my Indian bank account. I declare my income in India and pay taxes in India, even though I reside in Spain.
b. The company (US or India) hires me as a Spanish consultant and pay me in Spain.
c. Any other opinion

Im trying frantically to post this as a new thread but in vain . I would be ogliged if any1 of u can guide me through the process . Also not wasting further time i would like some info which is purely based on my discretion , but suggestion is well appreciated from u end .I would like to know wat r the things to be followed in h1 . Currently im facing issue with my h1 ie , my h1 was approved from this year lottery and it had a query which i have sent a letter to ins through my consultant , in aug but i have not recd any update so far . Im all confused as to what is my status coz at time im told that im on student visa and at time on h1 . Also if i find a job i will be paid only wen its valid . currently i stand on a crossroad of confusion , agony , pain and frustation . pls some 1 guide me thrgh this and if reqd i would apprecciate if u can also mail me . I had a interview in Feb 2009 , keep all the documents ready. Your wife and youself can go at the same time.
1) Marriage certificate( If ur married :-))
2) All your transcripts for your schools
3) Passports
4) H1-B, EAD, AP copies, I-485 receipt # copies.
5) Any other communications you had with USCIS copies of it.
6) W-2 for last 3 yrs( if you have them), pay slips.
7) Employment letter from your employer
8) AC-21 etc.
9) Copies of your utilities bill, mortgage/lease papers.
10) Birth certificate of all applicants.
11) Family photos etc ( optional).
Interview will be in the 2nd floor not more than 20 or 25 mins. Take an lawyer/attorney with you if necessary.

Probably not. Emergencies are typically for medical reasons or death in family. Most officail visits do not fall under emergency. Most of the decision is made case by case basis. It is upto you to prove the emergency nature and convince the IO.

My friend has 2 I-140s one EB3 (PD Dec 2002) and second one EB2 (PD Nov 2006) - what is the best option for him.
Whether he can use earlier PD for EB2 (I-485).
Please share your knowledge.
Doesn't matter....If he is from India/China, Without immigration refrom he is screwed either way....
If he is EB2 ROW then go with Nov 2006...

I was the first to show my site, then paddy, then dark and then fern so i really dont see any influence may it be progressive or negative...Hmmm.... I thought paddy was first. Regaurdless that's just my opinion... I mean techincally you were all influenced by the sony site :P. But end dates on things like these types of compitetions are important, what you do is you give a specified time to have them linked up. Give somethin like a 6ish hr gap to have them up or post the link... then close it if they aren't up.

R u on H1B or on EAD, If you are on EAD, can you pls. tell me what documents you sent to USCIS for AP renewal, The reason i am asking is because last year when i renewed my EAD and AP, at that time i was on H1 but now i am on EAD.

Actually can someone make this smaller? I'm not a very good pixel artist so I just shrunk a stargate and edited it so that the chevrons showed up. It's a little goa'uld standing at the gate with glowing eyes. Doesn't show up on my CRT. Someone with an LCD might be able to see it. Also the gate doesn't look pixelated like it should.

I can certainly see both sides of the debate, and, frankly, neither side is being completely honest or clear. What is quite clear, is how immigration, and our broken immigration system, keeps coming up in the context of the debate of national agenda items, such as the health care debate.
Several weeks ago I blogged on the danger that the tone of the Health care debate (http://ailaleadership.blogspot.com/2009/08/healthcare-debate-and-immigration.html)had for the coming immigration reform debate. Calling the President a Liar during his speech to a joint session to Congress is Exhibit A in what we have in store for the coming debate. If Joe Wilson the Immigration Lawyer can misrepresent the consequences of legislative language as straight forward as these two particular sections, we have to be prepared for the extraordinary misrepresentations of any positive aspects of an immigration reform bill. Whether it is "amnesty," "rewarding law breakers," "open borders," "Liars," or even "destroyers of American culture" we have to understand how to phrase and present the response. Without a doubt, the response from those of us who understand the need to balance immigration reform, with security concerns, and with economic growth has to be not only vocal, but focused. We, as Real Immigration Lawyers, must know the language of the proposed legislation, we must know the myths that are out there, and we need to be vocal in our response.
Next week, more than 40 talk radio hosts are descending on Capital Hill for the FAIR (http://www.splcenter.org/intel/intelreport/article.jsp?aid=846)Annual Scare the Crap Out of Congress Boondoggle. The outrageous claims of the downfall of America caused by illegal immigration, along with similarly nutty myths will be presented as facts. Actual real news organization will cite the Center for Immigration Studies as a legitimate source of information. We must be prepared to call into our local radio stations, whose hosts are in D.C. next week, and be prepared to present the facts of immigration. Not by sugar coating the problems that are caused by illegal immigration, but rather by pointing out which specific laws are broken (INA 212(a)(9) anyone?) and how having a comprehensive solution can actually fix the immigration pothole in the legislative superhighway. Immigration Lawyers it is time to Stand Up and be vocal and beat back the immigration myths (http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?bc=27924).

Dear "colleagues in faith" :-) There is a rule in life - if you want something and beg for it, you most probably will not get it. You have to fight and find a (legal) way to get it. This is the way the American Anglo-Saxon population mixed with smart Jews and other hard working nations achieved economical and political power over the last centuries. Not by begging for rights and being scared of people with different opinion.
These people who are against the uncontrolled immigration have their point. This process has to be controlled or the USA would become just another "developing" country. However, we are talking about something else. We are talking about rules set by the US government. When most of us came in this country years ago, we knew the rules and we expected those rules to be followed. If a government agency keeps my LC certification for years without processing it and even without indicating when it would be processed, then the government is not following those rules. And it is my right to know why is that. If I honestly pay my taxes and follow the laws of this country, I expect the government of the very same country to fulfill its obligations to me and (in particular) to process my application in a reasonable time and by following the current laws. If I do not qualify - OK, I will "pack back". But I want to know that, not to be kept in the dark.
This is what should be the main goal of the "volunteers" of this forum or organization (whatever) - fairness and following the rules by the government. If the immigration agency is a bunch of people incapable to sort out their problems, then they have to be replaced and problems solved quickly and efficiently. Excuses like "no money, understaffing" do not work because we throw $$$ in lawyers laps - part of this money can be easily used by the government for "overstaffing".
I see that some people got annoyed of my opinion but again, they should not forget that the issue we discuss concerns 350,000 highly qualified professionals who support the economy of this country. The opponents from numbersusa etc do not represent all Americans and most people are not against this king of immigration, if properly regulated. They just have to be properly informed.
In addition, do not be afraid to voice your opinion if you think you are right and if you do not hide something. Then people will respect you.
These people who are against the uncontrolled immigration have their point. This process has to be controlled or the USA would become just another "developing" country. However, we are talking about something else. We are talking about rules set by the US government. When most of us came in this country years ago, we knew the rules and we expected those rules to be followed. If a government agency keeps my LC certification for years without processing it and even without indicating when it would be processed, then the government is not following those rules. And it is my right to know why is that. If I honestly pay my taxes and follow the laws of this country, I expect the government of the very same country to fulfill its obligations to me and (in particular) to process my application in a reasonable time and by following the current laws. If I do not qualify - OK, I will "pack back". But I want to know that, not to be kept in the dark.
This is what should be the main goal of the "volunteers" of this forum or organization (whatever) - fairness and following the rules by the government. If the immigration agency is a bunch of people incapable to sort out their problems, then they have to be replaced and problems solved quickly and efficiently. Excuses like "no money, understaffing" do not work because we throw $$$ in lawyers laps - part of this money can be easily used by the government for "overstaffing".
I see that some people got annoyed of my opinion but again, they should not forget that the issue we discuss concerns 350,000 highly qualified professionals who support the economy of this country.
