regarding the state chapters
this is what i found on the page following your link
At first i thought there was no state chapter for California. Only after searching the page for the word "california" did i find the ones for Southern California and Northern California
which are not states but just different parts of California.
Was i supposed to magically just guess that it is listed this way...or am i a moron who just does not understand this simple thing?
May be its true what you call yourself. How much time it took to find out these info for you.

You can send 2 x 2 photo.. they will cut and make it like a 3.5cm x 3.5cm Or you can use epassportphoto dot com to get yourself a 3.5cm x 3.5cm passport photos for less.

received approval notice for myself and my son today in the mail. The status update on the website still shows pending. Didn't receive any email or SMS.
We are still waiting for my wife's approval notice. Probably got delayed somewhere in the mail.

Well his bills were mainly an attempt to stem H1b visa abuse. Maybe there is too much overkill, but look at his point of view. What would you do if you suddenly felt 10s of 1000s were misusing the H1b visa and entering the country. We also need to talk to them more and convey our position clearly, irrespective of party.
one necessary part of getting GC relief, is to help them in avoiding abuse of work visas, which will ruin our reputation and make the visa abusers semi-illegal.
There are issues like impractical time for H1 transfer that need to be fixed. 1-2 weeks to find a job is impossible most of the time.
I also edited my first post with much better statistics and new things I learnt in this debate, which will help newbies.

Hi Guys,
Happy to say , got the CPO status last night for my EAD.
I had e-filed on May 25th. 4 days back had called up customer service, and one lady said she would send an expedite request. Probably that did the trick. I had taken info pass appmnt for Aug 25 and was planning to meet the local congresman today.

Lasantha, I have a similar profile like yours except for my PD will become current in May and I-485 was filed July 2nd. My question to you is that did you call the service center to inquire about your status, and that triggered approval.

Guys the Satyagraha and Anthem are good ideas and can be implemented. There is no shortage of good ideas.
The shortage is of people who will participate and do things. Less than 50 have registered so far.
Of course you understand talking face to face with lawmakers in large numbers is the best way to convey our ideas. Why are we talking about mails when the goal of this thread is to meet them ?
Agreed. Lets focus on getting people to the event. In my opinion, and with past experience, it takes a lot of rallying, babysitting, cajoling, positively motivating people constantly and consistently for people to make up their minds.
Very few people will be fully motivated and do things by themselves. We need to put in a lot of effort in making people believe they are capable, worthy and have the ability and power to change their own lives.

I also think we should stick to the "five year federal taxes paid" beacuse that is what they expect from normal family based GC holder. Also adding Masters and Higher degrees in the STEM fields attract possible more support.
We should not talk any where close to 10 /15 years waiting time as that is not what current system of citizesnship talks about.
Also marriage based GC already has 3 years after GC rule so it may beeasy to get it.
Making it more complicated like Percent credit for before GC filing, after GC filing, after getting GC May become hard and complicated to convenince politicains who might be amending those rules.
So Keeping it simple - 5 yr federal taxes, MS or higher in STEM, 3 years after GC - you get citizenship (all of these has precedents)

It is the RD of the 485 application that dictates the order of processing the application. In addition, for the application to the processed the PD must be current. Once the PD is current, it is the RD that matters.
